Linux and Python training for OSINT investigators

Command-line fluency, scripting, and tooling that let investigators automate collection and reporting.

Investigators who can work a command line and write a little code get more done. This focus area gives OSINT and PAI practitioners the Linux fluency, Python skills, and automation habits that turn repetitive collection and reporting into scripts.

Linux for investigators

OSINT Essentials with Linux (L-C) prepares students to conduct PAI research on a Debian-based distribution, training on both Kali and Ubuntu. Investigational Python and CENTAR build on that foundation with automation, custom tooling, and AI-assisted development.

Python for the investigative workflow

Investigational Python teaches CASO graduates to automate collection, enrichment, de-duplication, and reporting, and to read, adapt, and troubleshoot tools published on PyPI, GitHub, and GitLab.

Build what the mission needs

CENTAR transforms users with limited coding experience into capable problem-solvers who rapidly develop custom software solutions using AI-enhanced development, with ten-day, hybrid, and accelerated five-day courses of action.

Linux, Python, and Automation courses

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know Linux before the Kali Linux course?
No. The course is an introduction to the Linux operating system as well as to Kali's investigation tools. It covers command-line basics, permissions, shell scripting, and installing tools from PyPI, GitHub, and GitLab. It is intended for CASO or CSR graduates preparing to investigate on Linux.
What does Investigational Python teach?
CASO graduates learn to write code that automates their OSINT/PAI needs, including collection, enrichment, de-duplication, and reporting, and leave with working scripts built around their own workflows. CASO I is a prerequisite.
What is CENTAR?
Collaborative Engineering for Novel Technology and Advanced Research (CENTAR) is a five-to-ten-day program that turns users with limited coding experience into problem-solvers who build custom software for operational challenges with AI-enhanced development. It is offered to US Government customers.
